What others are saying about Muskegon Jobs Now

It isn’t very often, especially today, that a $100 million project comes around that will create approximately 1,173 direct and indirect jobs. This project will generate 755 direct jobs and 418 indirect construction jobs with an average salary of $40,000. It also will include a Project Labor Agreement with The West Michigan Building Trades Council, which will ensure that local workers will build this project. Their income will greatly benefit the community.

I want to see us grow as a community. I want to see this land be reused positively.

I am aware that employment hardships are statewide and that there are students across the state who suffer as a by-product of the stress their families are experiencing through un- and/or under-employment. When we have an opportunity to address even small pockets within the state by generating employment opportunities, why would we not be supportive.

I think this project would be a wonderful addition and an economic catalyst for the area.

Bob Szymoniak, superintendent of Fruitport Community Schools

I truly believe that this casino will be an economic engine that will move Muskegon County forward.
